Well, it's nice to see you here again Thanks for joining me here on this cloud I know we've got things to talk about There's stuff going on and we're not proud I can't believe this happened in California When it didn't happen in Arkansas Back there, there are rules about this stuff Yes, back there it is against the law So, I have got this here granddaughter And you too have got this here grandson And sure, of course, we do love them both We sure love them both a mighty ton I can't believe this happened in California When it didn't happen in Arkansas People say that it's a Southern thing But in the South, it's against the law Now you will go blame my granddaughter And I will go and blame your grandson They could have chosen anywhere else To go and have their romantic fun I can't believe this happened in California When it didn't happen in Arkansas Back there, it's seen by folks as incest And incest sticks inside of their craw Do we really, my own dear sister, Have to go ask who came onto who? Sad to say, but cousins doing this Well, it is really nothing that new I can't believe this happened in California When it didn't happen in Arkansas But what really rubs me the wrong way Is their photograph of ma and pa They kept a picture of ma and pa In a fancy frame above their bed If someone asked whose family they were "They're ours both," is what they smiled and said I can't believe this happened in California When it didn't happen in Arkansas I guess they really loved our family Well, that's the bone we have to just gnaw Well, their kids all really turned out fine With just a hiccup or maybe two They say problems skip a generation So, their grandkids will pay what is due I can't believe this happened in California When it didn't happen in Arkansas If their grandkids wind up with problems Well, hey, no one is without a flaw I wonder if they ever ask themselves if we're rolling over in the grave If they ponder how we view all this If they can ever be that brave So, it's really legal in California Thank God it's illegal in Arkansas Why did we have to come out to California When we should have just stayed in Arkansas No, our people shouldn't have come to California We should have just stayed on in Arkansas Our grandchildren might not have gone and gotten married If we'd just stayed living in Arkansas
