The Forgotten
Welcome home, welcome home, is echoed now. Back then the remarks were not so kind, they were words that tormented the mind.
They called you baby killers, spit in your face, not an ounce of respect not even a Trace. Yet, the word of God States rescue the weak and the needy , deliver them from the hand of the wicked.
They ask for help and the US came running to prop up South Vietnam.
We answered the call from Good Old Uncle Sam.
Chorus
They called it a conflict but it was war ,you pushed back their enemy and nailed shut the door.
Family still cry for those left behind, you fought side by side with dignity and American pride.
Your country called you answered ,not one but all.
You came from every state and race, to look the enemy in the face.
You fought an enemy barely visible, one who knew the land.
But the US government devised a plan..
Take away their cover with Agent Orange, the result brought death to enemy and Soldier alike, this thing had become a different fight.
Chorus
Boots on the ground, Lock and Load, fight the fight is what we were told.
Bonds of Brotherhood, comrades left behind, you were in NAM fighting side by side. Depending on each other to come out alive.

No respect, no parade a people forgotten and angry tirade. You followed your orders stepped into the fight, yet the country accused , you didn't do what was right.
Is it too much to ask to be respected
is it too much to ask to not be rejected.
The forgotten, the shamed, we're really the Brave and the true.
The way they fought in NAM they would Still fight for you.
